According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg the Titans have hired Scott Booker to be a defensive assistant working primarily with the secondary. In January of 2018 Booker was hired to coach for the University of Miami Ohio Redhawks as a wide receivers coach.

Prior to that, in 2017, Booker coached safeties and special teams for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Booker had a seven year stint from 2011-2016 at Notre Dame where he was an offensive intern, tight ends coordinator, and special teams coordinator.

He does have experience coaching up the secondary on defense. Booker was the secondary coach at Kent State University from 2005-2008 and at Western Kentucky in 2009. Booker also played defensive back himself for the Kent State Golden Flashes.

He also has a connection with Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees. Pees coached at Kent State from 1998-2003. Scott Booker played and coached under Pees.
